Adult Sunday School

Adult Sunday School

We have two lively adult Sunday School classes that meet on Sunday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.  Join us for enriching conversation, while enjoying some coffee or tea and an assortment of light breakfast items.  Children’s Sunday School meets during the second half of our worship service.

Contemporary Discipleship Class

The Contemporary Theology Class meets in the church’s Living Room. We read books and watch films featuring contemporary theologians, spiritual writers, commentators. A contemporary issues discussion is then lead by Rev. Scott Myers or Drew Irwin. We are currently studying Amy Jill Levine’s “Short Stories by Jesus”, a look at Jesus’ parables in their original context. Amy Jill Levine is a Jewish professor at a United Church of Christ Seminary in Nashville.

Fellowship Class

The Fellowship Class meets in the Chapel. It is a traditional bible study class using Presbyterian interpretive guides. We currently have been selecting various books of the bible and then studying them in depth for several weeks. Through the exploration of biblical text, participants are invited into a deepened relationship with God.
