Dear Westport Presbies, family and friends,
A Happy and Healthy New Year to you and all of your loved ones! We thank God for your loving presence and work in our spiritual family in Westport. We have been blessed with many experiences of wonder and joy in the entire holy season of Advent and Christmas. We strive to keep helping God in shining light and Jesus following love in our community, city and world!
This Sunday, January 6, we celebrate the visit of the Magi to the holy family. As you can see from the attached photograph (part of our Christmas Eve Illuminated Service), we are part of a global celebration of this moment of hope and faith. Please join us at 10:50 am!
During the service, we will be ordaining and installing new elders and deacons. Please come and encourage and thank these Westport Presbies:
Elders: Carly Simon, Rita-Marie
Raach and Steve Zeoli
Deacons: Jeff Kuhn, Joe Raach, Jeanne Reiss Myers
Thanks to outgoing elders Drew Irwin, Debbie Anderson, Martine Roesel and outgoing deacon, James Capps. Debbie Anderson was also our Clerk of Session for six years. Thank you for your commitment to Christ in our congregation and community!
Please pray for Carly Simon as she prepares for back surgery on Monday, January 7. For Belva Berlekamp following surgery. Blessings on Nancy Brockman following her baptism as an adult in the Dec. 23 worship service. Pray for Mason (ill child in Raach family), Kathy Westbay (Nancy Brockman’s sister), and the family of Libby Asher.
Thanks to all who helped us raise $936.47 for the Westport Concert Series through a cookie sale….all who gave to the children’s winter coat project which gave 19 coats to Frank Rushton (Kansas City, Kansas District school just over State Line) school children….and all who donated to the Christmas Family/Senior Citizen/Veteran gift drive.
Please help us take down Christmas decorations on Saturday, January 12 at 10:00 am.
