Music

In our congregation, music is an important way we reconnect with God—even a way for us to know God!

We emphasize congregational singing. Our choir helps to lead us in bringing out the best of ourselves in singing songs of faith and love, ancient and contemporary, as well as sung responses to prayers and readings.

Our choir sings an anthem every week. A choir member with voice education and training sings an Offertory Solo each week. These are inspirational “God moments” in our worship services.

Our Music Director, Emily Davidson shapes the musical portion of the service. She plays organ and piano and directs the choir every Sunday.  Contact her about joining the choir; practices are before and after worship on Sundays.

We celebrate God’s assured and loving pardon and grace every Sunday by singing the lively Caribbean song “Hallelujah! Hallelujah”.

We also invite people to leave our service every Sunday with the confidence that they are being led by the light and love of Christ as they sing a inspirational gospel tune, “Lead Me, Guide Me” by the legendary Doris Akers.

We celebrate an authentic Passover Seder during Holy Week every year, where we sing and dance.

Our Illuminated Christmas Eve and Good Friday services merge visual arts and music and the spoken word into beautiful, meditative services.

“Over My head, I hear music in the air! There must be a God somewhere!”
