CALL TO WORSHIP:      Psalm 103      A Responsive Reading
     Leader:     Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!
     People:    Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
     Leader:     Who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy;
     People:    The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
     Leader:     For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him.
     People:    As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
     Leader:     As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children.
     People:    Bless the Lord, all his works, in all places of his dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul!

AFFIRMATION:   Apostles’ Creed

     I Believe in God the Father Almighty,    Maker of heaven and earth;     and in Jesus Christ, His Only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.     He descended into hell;     the third day He rose again from the dead.

     He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;  from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.     I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

Job 19:25-27

For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

Romans 8:35,37-39

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew 5:13-18

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything but is thrown out and trampled under foot. You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. People do not light a lamp and put it under the bushel basket; rather, they put it on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”
