CALL TO RETURN TO OUR SOULS
HYMN:
Here in This Place (Gather Us In)  #401 Glory to God
CONFESSION AND COMMITMENT    –by Michelle Obama

You may not always have a comfortable life
and you will not always be able
to solve the world’s problems at once
but don’t ever underestimate
the importance you can have
because history has shown us
that courage can be contagious
and hope can take on a life of its own.
Listen to your hopes
instead of your fears—
How this time,
we decide to stop doubting
and to start dreaming.
How this time
we commit ourselves
to building the world as it should be
to serve our fellow human beings.
We need to fix our souls.
Our souls are broken
and we have lost our way.
We are all God’s children
and there’s so much more that unites us
than divides us.
Amen.

PRAYER OF DEDICATION:

May all beings everywhere
plagued with sufferings of body and mind
quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid,
and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power,
and may people think of befriending one another.
May those who find themselves
in trackless, fearful wilderness—

be guarded now and always.
