CALL TO CONFESSION AND COMMITMENT (All in unison):
Jesus didn’t limit his ministry
to the four walls of the church.
He was out there fighting injustice
and speaking truth to power
every single day.
He was out there spreading a message
of grace and redemption
to the least, the last, and the lost.
And our charge is to find Him
everywhere, every day
by how we live our lives.
So we can’t fool ourselves into thinking
that we’re going to be good servants of God
if we’re not whole inside ourselves.
Amen.
–Michelle Obama

PRAYER OF DEDICATION (everyone in unison)
May all beings everywhere
plagued with sufferings of body and mind
quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid,
and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power,
and may people think of befriending one another.
May those who find themselves
in trackless, fearful wilderness –
the children, the aged, the unprotected –
be guarded now and always. Amen. –Buddhist prayer
