PRELUDE Première Gymnopedie— Erik Satie
CALL TO RETURN TO OUR SOULS
HYMN: My Shepherd Will Supply My Need #803 Glory to God
CONFESSION AND COMMITMENT by Michelle Obama
Jesus didn’t limit his ministry
to the four walls of the church.
He was out there fighting injustice
and speaking truth to power
every single day.
He was out there spreading a message
of grace and redemption
to the least, the last, and the lost.
And our charge is to find Him
everywhere, every day
by how we live our lives.
So we can’t fool ourselves into thinking
that we’re going to be good servants of God
if we’re not whole inside.
Amen.
HYMN: We Are Marching in the Light of God #853 Glory to God 3 stanzas(marching, dancing, Siyahamba)

CHORAL ANTHEM: Where True Charity and Love Dwell—Kaye Saunders
Where true charity and love dwell, God is also there.
Since love of Christ has joined us, joined us in one body,
Let us now rejoice, now and always.
And as we love and serve our Lord, the living God,
So let us with sincerity love each other.

Weeping angel, with pinions trailing and head bowed low in your hands.
Mourning angel with heartstrings wailing for one who in death’s hall stands.
Mourning angel, silence your wailing and raise your head from your hands.
Weeping angel, on your pinions trailing, the white dove, promise, stands!
PRAYER OF DEDICATION:
O God, we live in a world
that teaches
“Do your own thing”
“Have it your way,”
Teach us, instead,
the wisdom of “Your will be done”
and “We give Thee but Thine own.”
In this offering,
may we make the subtle shift
from our way to Your way,
from the slavery of self absorption
to the freedom of faithfulness.
Help us to apply this not only to our money,
but also to our brothers & sisters in Christ.
Amen.
