CALL TO WORSHIP:

One:         God calls us here together — each of us, all of us, our whole selves.

All:           We bring our questions, our longings, our hopes, our dreams and our fears.

One:         Jesus invites us to come and see where God is at work.

All:           Across the street and across the globe, the living Christ is present.

One:         Within these walls and within our hearts, God is here.

All:           Let us worship the God who reaches out in love and invites us to come and see!

*OPENING HYMN (You may rise in Body or Spirit):

UNISON CONFESSION OF OUR NEED OF GOD:

All:           Mothering God, we have chased after foolish things.

We have spent our strength on small things.

We have worn ourselves out in quests for what can’t satisfy.

Deliver us from our prisons of self-regard.

Forgive us for living in ways that fail to reflect your dreams for a re-made world.

Help us to become your friends, servants of your dreams for creation. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S GRACE:

One:         Beloved, you are forgiven in Christ.

Happy are those who put their trust in God.

For God puts our feet on solid ground and makes a path for us.

All:           Thanks be to God!

One:         Let’s share the peace of Christ with one another.

One:          Come, Holy Spirit. Open our hearts to receive the good news in ways that deepen our gladness, even when the world is spinning out of control.

All:           Amen.
