CALL TO RETURN TO OUR SOULS

Leader:       Jesus did not limit his ministry to the four walls of the church.
People:      Jesus was out there fighting injustice and speaking truth to power every single day.
Leader:       He was out there spreading a message of grace and redemption to the least, the last, and the lost.
People:      And our charge is to find Jesus everywhere, every day by how we live our lives.
Leader:       So we can’t fool ourselves into thinking that we’re going to be good servants of God if we’re not whole inside ourselves.
                                                          —Michelle Obama

HYMN:  This Is My Father’s World   GTG#370
CALL TO CONFESSION AND COMMITMENT

Do not get lost in a sea of despair.    Be hopeful. Be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day    a week, a month or a year.    It is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble,    necessary trouble.  Nothing can stop the power  of a committed and determined people  to make a difference in our society.  Why?  Because human beings are the most dynamic link to the Divine on this planet.”  Amen.                                                       —John Lewis

People:    Now is always the time when more good can be done.    Leader:          Deeper engagement in the Jesus work is asked of us.
