Dear Westport Presbies, family and friends,
Bob and Elaine Russell are grandparents! What a blessing! Robert Barron Russell, son of Jacqueline and Grant Russell, was born early last week at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and 21 inches long. We praise God!
And Joe Raach, son of Rita Marie and Joe Raach, came home early last week after hours and days of worry as he was born into our world. We continue to praise God!
There will be a baby shower for the Raach family at church this Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9:30 a.m. Pot luck breakfast too, so bring your special dishes! Smile!
We invite you to help cook a meal for the poor and homeless this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The meal will be taken to Cherith Brook on Thursday. Your help will have a great impact!
The Sweeney family is in Madagascar for a month on a medical support journey. Pray for them to have a great experience. And keep praying for Steve Thomas (cancer treatments), Nancy Brockman’s sister, Kathy Westbay(palliative care hospice) and for Jak Guimbellot and his family. Jak’s parents are two gay women, one a graduate of Tarkio College where Linda Smith (who brought this to our attention during worship today), and people from the Westboro Baptist Church are picketing Jak’s school in Olathe, an act of meanness and bullying we can’t accept.
